America 250! Committee
Nancy Geiger, Co-Chairman
Beth Iseminger, Co-Chairman
Preparing
for America’s 250th Birthday
Celebrations
The celebration extends through 2023 and plans
include celebrating the 250th
anniversary of all events associated with our
nation’s quest for independence from the Boston
Tea Party of 1773 (e.g., 2023) through the
Treaty of Paris in 1783 (e.g., 2033).

activities of this Special Committee. Check

- The NSDAR America 250! Committee publishes
the Patriot Post a quarterly newsletter called
the Patriot Post. The Patriot Post
can be found as one of the blue links on the
right side of the NSDAR America 250! Committee
webpage. https://www.dar.org/members/committees/patriot-post-newsletter
This newsletter highlights ways chapters have
made individual Revolutionary War Patriots
come alive within their own chapters and
communities. These ideas can spark ideas
within your own chapter and community to
recognize Revolutionary War patriots.
- The public ISDAR website has a new public
webpage where Patriot Stories can be posted!
The link Stories of our Patriot Ancestors
is in the banner header. It is designed to
house the experiences of our forebears.
Patriots acted to create and found our
country. These Patriot Stories seek to honor
and remember the Patriots' contributions
(military, civil or public).
The Iowa America 250! Committee encourages
Iowa Daughters to share the efforts of their
Patriots in the American Revolution, April 19,
1775 - November 26, 1783. In this manner we
can then let others know what it took to
affect the Revolution and start a new country.
Guidelines for Patriot Story submissions are
posted below in Resources and on the new
public webpage.
- Through our DAR activities and service, we
can inspire our members and our communities by
discovering, remembering, and sharing the
stories of our Patriot ancestors as we
celebrate America 250!
Please join with us as we
Rise and Shine for America!
