DAR Project Patriot Committee
Ellie Senne, Chairman
The DAR Project Patriot Committee supports
America’s service members and their families.
On the chapter and
individual member levels, we are encouraged to
support our military men and women in any way
that is appropriate. Some examples would be
sending care packages to deployed relatives of
chapter members, healthy snacks, duffle bags,
hoodies, sweatshirts, sweatpants, cards and
letters, chapstick, toothpaste/toothbrushes,
chocolate fruit snacks, nail polish. (All
clothing items must be NEW.) Many more
suggestions are shown on the NSDAR website
under Committees.
DAR support on the
national level focuses on two groups – women
in the military and wounded military personnel
at three locations. These locations are:
- The Chaplain’s Closet at Landstuhl
Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl,
Germany
- Warrior Transition Brigade at Walter
Reed National Military Medical Center in
Bethesda, Maryland
- Warrior and Family Support Center in
San Antonio, Texas.
The national level support also addresses
needs at Camp Atterbury, Indiana and Marine
Corps Base Camp at Pendleton, California.
Support to deploying and returning service
members and their families is also provided.
I am looking forward to
our next two years together. Let's show
everyone "We Can Do It" and support our troops
and families. Feel free to call me anytime and
keep track of your chapter's contributions, no
matter how small. Remember 100 pennies
makes a $1.00.
Also remember that motel-sized toiletries are
not accepted.
