American Indians
Joan B. Udseth, Chairman
The new DAR American Indian Fund did well
in its inaugural year! In addition to
providing funding to Bacone, Chemawa, and
Indian Youth of America summer camp, $4,000
has been designated for two grant of $2000
each to award for education of Native
Americans. Please let me know about any local
Tribes, schools, or other American Indian
organizations that you feel deserve help and
should be considered for one of these awards.
Requests for these monies:
- Must be for a specific program
that provides educational
opportunities for Native Americans
not only “school” education but
could include health education or
another kind.
- Must be VERY specific,
explaining exactly how the money
will be used.
- Must be verifiable.
- Must be provided to me by March
27th so that I can
forward the information on to the
national chairman in time for the
April National Board of Management
meeting when a decision regarding
the award recipients will be made.
