| NSDAR Wright Administration increased the number of
commemorative events to fourteen in 2023. The list can be
found on the NSDAR Commemorative Events Committee page.
Thirty-seven (37) of the Iowa chapters reported
participation in at least one event. Twenty-six (26)
chapters had members participating in local 4th
of July parades and twenty-five (25) chapters registered
as a Commemorative Partner with USA Vietnam War
Commemoration Commission. Other popular commemorative events included John Phillip Sousa March (13 chapters), Vietnam War 50th Anniversary (14 chapters), and DAR Hospital Corp Anniversary (11 chapters). Seventeen (17) chapters brought to Fall Forum over 25 pounds of loose tea sent to Boston to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. Six chapters are receiving ISDAR Outstanding Commemorative Events certificates including: Anna Maria Lane, Henry Knox, Priscilla Alden, DeShon (Boone), Lawrence Van Hook and Ladies of the Lake. Two chapters were nominated for outstanding work in a commemorative event and sent to Division for judging.
