DAR Project Patriot Committee
Teri Miller, Chairman
MISSION: The DAR Project
Patriot coordinates DAR support for members of
our military currently serving our country;
encourages chapter members and individuals to
support America’s active servicemen, women, and
their families.
HISTORY: The DAR Project Patriot
committee was activated in 2002; following
events of 9-11. In February 2002, the U.S.S.
John C. Stennis (CVN D74) was assigned by the
Department of Defense to the NSDAR for
sponsorship. The Project Patriot committee now
supports all active-duty service personal, home
and abroad.
SUPPORT: At the national
level, DAR support is focused on active-duty
military service members and their families at
six locations:
- Walter Reed National Military Medical
Center, Bethesda, Maryland
- Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio,
Texas
- Camp Atterbury, Indiana, a Mobilization
Training Center
- Marine Corps Base Camp, Pendleton,
California
- Fort Belvoir, Virginia
- The Chaplain’s Closet at Landstuhl Regional
Medical Center in Landstuhl, German
* Please visit the National
Committee page to learn what is needed at the
above facilities, and whom to contact.
On the State level, in addition to the locations
mentioned, daughters are encouraged to support
our active service men and women in a variety of
ways. Sending goodies and cards, supporting our
deployed service members by partnering with Blue
Star Mothers; volunteering or donating your time
and talents, assisting in community activities
like welcome home ceremonies or projects
throughout the year.
I am looking forward to the next two years as
we challenge ourselves to make a positive
difference and supporting our troops and their
families.
Feel free to reach out to me anytime and let us
not ever forget our motto “God, Home, and
Country.”
Celebrate Stars &
Stripes Forever
