The E Pluribus Unum Committee was established on June 29, 2025, under the Storage Administration. The E Pluribus Unum Committee supports DAR’s mission to perpetuate the legacy of all the men and women who supported the cause of independence.

Support this committee by:
  1. Expanding members’ knowledge about under-represented Patriots, i.e., African American, Indigenous, non-European, mixed-heritage descent, or female. These may be referred to as Forgotten Patriots.
  2. Spotlight under-represented Patriots during Black History Month in February and Women's History Month in March.
  3. Present a Forgotten Patriots Minute at chapter meetings or in chapter newsletters. (Pre-written 2025-2026 minutes are being compiled and will be located on the committee’s web page.) Members may create their own minutes or utilize the many resources available on the internet.
  4. Highlight your community's under-represented Patriots.
  5. Offer training and support to members on hard-to-prove Patriots.
Promote the mission of the E Pluribus Unum Committee in your community by raising awareness about DAR and its mission of highlighting all Revolutionary War patriots by assisting prospective members and the public in discovering the unique backgrounds and distinct perspectives of their Revolutionary ancestors.

Watch for weekly posts highlighting Forgotten Patriots on the Iowa DAR private Facebook page. These can also be used as E Pluribus Unum minutes in chapter meetings and newsletters.
