Amy Sunleaf, Chairman

The E Pluribus Unum Committee was established on June 29, 2025, under the Storage Administration. The E Pluribus Unum Committee supports DAR’s mission to perpetuate the legacy of all the men and women who supported the cause of independence.

Through the mission and work of this committee, members, and chapters illuminate our legacy by expanding members’ knowledge about under-represented Patriots, i.e., African American, Indigenous, non-European, mixed-heritage descent, or female. These may be referred to as Forgotten Patriots.

Supporting Black History Month and Women’s History Month by spotlighting under-represented Patriots. Shedding light on under-represented Patriots by presenting a Forgotten Patriots Minute at chapter meetings or in chapter newsletters. The 2025-2026 minutes are located on the committee’s web page. Members may create their own minutes or utilize the many resources available on the internet, highlighting under-represented Patriots in the local community, or offering training and support to members on hard-to-prove Patriots.

Promote the mission of the E Pluribus Unum Committee in your community by raising awareness about DAR and its mission of highlighting all Revolutionary War patriots by assisting prospective members and the public in discovering the unique backgrounds and distinct perspectives of their Revolutionary ancestors.
