Junior American Citizens
Jackie Beard, Chairman
Junior American Citizens is the National
Society’s second oldest youth-oriented
committee, preceded only by the Children of the
American Revolution. However there is no
ancestral connection required to be a member of
a JAC club or to participate in the art and
creative expression contests.
Today JAC helps children from preschool to
12th grade learn what it means to be a good
citizen. The origins can be traced back to a
Connecticut chapter in 1901.
Children may participate in JAC clubs,
which can even exist within established youth
groups like 4-H, scouts, church groups etc.,
or as a stand alone club. The national website
has all the details.
Children may also participate by submitting
entries in art and creative expression
contests. No club affiliation is needed, the
entry only needs to be submitted by a chapter.
Contests are held at the chapter, state,
regional, and national level! Last year over
800 students were recognized by the National
JAC Committee!
Contest entries are due to the State Chair by
December 31, 2025.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with
questions.
