JOINING DAR:
Membership in the Daughters of the American
Revolution (DAR) honors and preserves the
legacy of your patriot ancestor. Over two
hundred years ago, American patriots fought
and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy
today. As a member of DAR, through
participation in the National Society’s
various programs and activities, you can
continue this legacy by actively supporting
historic preservation, promotion of education,
and patriotic endeavor.
DAR members are educators, students,
professionals, mothers, historians,
genealogists, and homemakers, who continue
this legacy. They play an active role in their
communities promoting our objectives of
patriotism, education, and historic
preservation. With about 3,000 chapters
throughout the world, and with over 185,000
members, we are one of the largest women's
service organizations in the world.
Membership in DAR offers a number of benefits,
including:
- Promoting American history throughout
the year by honoring historically
significant people, places, dates, and
events
- Participating in commemorative events
such as Flag Day, Veterans Day, and the
4th of July
- Participating in meaningful service
projects throughout the community

scholarships; involving all family members
