The DeShon Chapter meets monthly in Boone, Iowa.  Meetings include devotions, patriotic recitations,  the President General’s Message and the National Defense Committee report.  Guest speakers as well as members provide interesting programs relating to a wide variety of subjects.  Subjects include community projects, lineage and genealogical research, history, and current issues of concern.  The meeting is followed by refreshments and fellowship.

The DeShon Chapter is an active chapter.  The chapter promotes historic preservation, education and patriotism.   Awards are given throughout the year for winners of the DAR Good Citizens contest, American History Essays, ROTC, Conservation and Community Service.

Prospective members are welcome and assistance is available in filling out DAR application papers.
