Meetings of the Mason City Chapter, NSDAR,
are held April through December. January
through March is our winter recess. We meet in
a variety of places, from area churches to
community spaces or libraries. "All meetings
include a program and we frequently have guest
speakers who cover a wide variety of topics
ranging from history, education, conservation
to community projects and lineage/genealogical
research."
Each meeting includes devotions, patriotic
recitations, as well as the reading of the
President General’s Message, a report from the
National Defense Committee, a Flag Minute, and
Indian Minute. Reports are presented by the
chapter chairperson of the committees
including Women’s Issues, Conservation, and
Service to Veterans. The meeting is followed
by refreshments and fellowship.
Prospective members are welcome and assistance
with filling out DAR application papers is
available. For more information on our
meetings, or joining the Mason City Chapter,
